  • Can Kee Guard be used as an anchor?
    The Kee Guard system is not intended as an anchor and cannot be used as an anchor or tie off point to support any workers or equipment suspended off the roof.
  • Can the Kee Guard system be painted?
    Kee Guard components can be painted by the customer before or after installation. Kee Guard components are also available powder coated in any RAL color at the customer’s request (extra charges apply for powder coating). Powder coating takes place prior to shipment.
  • Does the Kee Guard system comply with the current USA and EU safety regulations?
    The Kee Guard system has been tested to comply with and exceeds USA OSHA codes and EU EN standards.
  • Does the Kee Guard system offer advantages over a horizontal life line system or harness system?
    Yes. Kee Guard Roof Edge Fall Protection Railing System is a passive, collective fall protection system that is preferred by safety consultants. Lives have been lost in work-related falls resulting from workers not using harnesses properly. The Kee Guard system removes the potential of that risk. Harness systems require training and proper and regular use. The embedded anchor for a harness system could later leak and cause costly water damage. The worry of not having enough harnesses for rooftop workers is eliminated.
  • How do I buy the Kee Guard system?

  • Is Kee Guard more expensive than using a harness/tie-off system?
    When you consider the ongoing cost of training and system re-certification, the installed cost of Kee Guard is competitive with horizontal life line systems.
  • Is Kee Guard required by law?
    Building owners and employers are responsible for protecting their workers from any hazard encountered while on the job. In jobs requiring access to roofs for maintenance purposes, fall protection is usually required if workers will be exposed to a fall hazard.
  • Does Kee Guard need to be inspected or maintained after installation?
    Once properly installed, the Kee Guard system is considered a permanent installation. We recommend that any fall protection system be inspected on a routine basis for maximum liability protection for the building owner.
  • Can I use alternative fall protection methods (e.g. anchor points) as protection at rooftop access points?
    No. EN 14122 states that: “To prevent falling through the access opening at arrival areas the opening shall be provided with a gate. It also states that at “drop edges of arrival areas”, a Guardrail should be provided at least 1.5m either side of the ladder, or if the drop edge is less than 3m in length, then one should protect the entire edge.
  • I currently use a chain to protect my fixed ladder – is this OSHA compliant?
    No. OSHA no longer considers chains to be an effective fall protection solution. The reason for this is simple – standing on a ladder and reattaching the chain during roof egress while maintaining 3 points of contact on the ladder is a dangerous activity with fatal potential.
  • Will the gate pinch my fingers while I climb through the top of the ladder?
    The gate on Kee Guard Rooftop Guardrail for Ladder Access Points is attached to the railing and not the ladder. This enables you to transition onto the roof and push through the gate with your body – no hands needed!
  • Can the Kee Guard Rooftop Guardrail for Ladder Access Points be designed as a “shoot” to direct traffic to the center of the roof?
    Yes, Kee Guard Rooftop Guardrail for Ladder Access Points can be installed along the roof edge to protect the fall hazard, or in 2 parallel lines to direct traffic to the center of the roof.
  • Is protection needed on ladders between roof levels?
    OSHA requires all access points 1.2m or higher above an adjacent level to be protected, regardless if the lower level is a roof, the ground, or a work platform.
  • How does the railing attach to the sides of the ladder?
    Our clamps are designed to clamp onto nearly any ladder style, no drilling or welding necessary.
  • What is the steepest slope I can install Kee Walk with Guardrail on?
    Kee Walk with Guardrail is designed to be installed on roofs with a pitch up to 35°.
  • Can I get railings on only one side of the walkway?
    Kee Walk can be designed with railing on 1 or both sides of the railing.
  • Can Kee Walk with Guardrail be installed on rubber membrane roofs?
    Kee Walk with Guardrail can be combined with our non-penetrating Kee Guard rooftop railing for flat rubber roofs. Solutions for sloped or barrel membrane roofs are possible, but require our design team to be involved and roof penetrations.
  • Can the walkway traverse up and across the slope of the roof?
    Yes, Kee Walk with Guardrail is designed in both steps (for traveling up the slope) and platforms (for walking across the slope).
  • How does Kee Walk with Guardrail ship?
    The platform ship in built 1.5m or 3m sections with the railing base flanges attached to the walkway. The uprights and horizontal rails will be palletized and shrink-wrapped.
  • What are Kee Klamp components used for?
    With Kee Klamp components, you can build various tubular structures such as railing, racking, retail store fixtures, soft contained play systems, awning, fencing, machinery framework, and 1001 other applications.
  • What is the difference between guardrails and handrails?
    The two are often used interchangeably, however, guardrail is used at the perimeter of an edge or fall hazard and acts as a barricade or protection against the fall. A handrail is also used to prevent a fall, however, it is generally used on a sloped surface, such as a stair or ramp.
  • How much weight should handrails support?
    Handrails and the top rails of stair rail systems shall be capable of withstanding, without failure, a force of at least 200 pounds (890 n) applied within 2 inches (5 cm) of the top edge, in any downward or outward direction, at any point along the top edge.
  • How many steps are required for a handrail?
    Handrails are required when a stair rises more than 30 inches above the underlying surface. A handrail is required on stairs of four or more rises.
  • What are the OSHA requirements for a handrail?
    OSHA states that guardrail must reach a height of 42 inches (give or take 3 inches) above the walking-working surface and withstand a force of 200 lb at any point in a downward or outward direction. Should the force cause the railing to dip below 39 inches, the railing is not OSHA compliant. Parapets or railings that are pre-existing are acceptable at a minimum of 36 inches under OSHA code 55 Federal Register 13360, siting that replacing the parapet or railing would introduce unnecessary risk to the workers replacing it. In addition, if there is no parapet or wall that reaches 21 inches in height the installed railing will require midrails, screens, solid panels, or similar.
  • What is the maximum height of a handrail?
    The top of the handrail should not be less than 76 cm (30 inches) or greater than 94 cm (37 inches) from the walking surface.
  • How strong are Kee Klamp fittings?
    A Kee Klamp^® fitting (size 5 to 9) can support an axial load of 900kg (*2000 lbs) per grub screw with the grub screw tightened to a torque of 39 Nm.
  • How long will Kee Klamp last outdoors?
    Our galvanized fittings are designed to last 30+ years in outdoor environments. Some 60+ year old fittings can still be spotted in State and National Parks across the US, including Niagara Falls and the Adirondack region of New York.
  • What happens if I damage a Kee Klamp structure?
    Simply untighten the set screw of the affected area and replace with a new fitting. No cutting, welding, or threading required!

    Yes, the size and style of grub screw does matter. The large grub screw with a hardened cup point used in Kee Lite fittings cut into the tube and provides the highest rated slip load in the industry.
  • Can Kee Kwik^® be used outdoor?
    Yes, Kee Kwik^® can be used both indoors and outdoors.
  • Does Kee Kwik have an Aluminium version?
    Yes, Kee Kwik is available in galvanised steel or aluminium.
  • What types of Kee Kwik models are available?

  • Can I just paint a line on my roof?
    No. Painted lines do not meet the OSHA requirements for Designated Areas in rooftop fall protection. OSHA is very clear that Designated areas must be a physical barrier and visible from 6m away. The reason for this is simple, painted lines are easily covered by dust and will not stop a distracted worker from crossing them.
  • How far away from the roof edge do I need to install demarcation system?
    Kee Mark free-standing demarcation system can be used as an economical solution to guardrail, providing it is placed at least 2m from the roof edge.
  • Is Kee Mark Warning Line visible from the ground?
    KeeMark Warning Line is designed to be a highly visible warning of potential danger. In many cases, depending on building height, the warning line will be visible from the ground. If aesthetics are a concern on your project we recommend using Kee Guard non-penetrating railing over extensive amounts of warning line.
  • How does Kee Mark Demarcation Ship?
    Kee Mark Demarcation ships with pre-cut wires. The uprights and bases ship shrink-wrapped and palletized.
  • What sizes does the Kee Gate come in?
    Single width gates are designed for openings up to 1 metre wide. Double width gates are designed for openings greater than 1m (max. width 1.8m).
  • Is there a different version of the gate for right or left side opening?
    This gate is universal and can be mounted on the left or right of the opening
  • Do I need to know the size of my opening before ordering?
    No, the Single Kee Gate can be cut on site to fit any opening up to 1m wide.
  • Can I get Kee Gate in custom colours?
    Kee Gate is available off the shelf in galvanised steel and safety yellow. Custom colours are available upon request.
  • How does the Kee Pivot^® Mezzanine Safety Gate ship?
    The Kee Pivot^® Mezzanine Safety Gate typically ships with pre-cut tube with the cantilever side arms assembled. To save on lead time, however, some customers may opt to have the Kee Pivot^® Mezzanine Safety Gate ship completely unassembled.
  • I have low ceiling clearances – can I still use a Kee Pivot^® Mezzanine Safety Gate?
    Yes, custom pallet gates can be designed to work around low ceilings or small floor areas. Simply contact one of our experts to assist you in solving the problem.
  • I have chains in front of my pallet loading area, do I need a pallet gate?
    Yes. The reason is simple – to detach and reattach the chain workers have to stand right next to the fall hazard. Using the Kee Pivot^® Mezzanine Safety Gate eliminates the possibility of a fall completely. In it’s most recent fall protection code update OSHA stated that it does not consider chains to protect workers from falling through railing entrances.
  • How difficult is it to raise and lower the Kee Pivot^® Mezzanine Safety Gate?
    The Kee Pivot^® Mezzanine Safety Gate has cantilever arms designed to balance the weight of the arms for a single person to easily operate. For our largest size, however, we recommend ordering in aluminum to reduce the total weight.
  • My forklift damaged the Kee Pivot^® Mezzanine Safety Gate – what do I do now?
    The beauty of all Kee Safety systems is that they are component based using Kee Klamp or Kee Lite fittings. Simply dissemble the fittings in the damaged area and replace with new fittings and tube.

  • I need 2 different stair heights, is this possible?

  • What size of obstructions can be covered with a Kee^® Step Mini Step Over?
    Maximum obstacle clearance is 400mm. Our smaller Kee^® Step Mini Step Over provides clearance of up to 200mm.
  • Are Kee^® Step Mini Step Overs designed for indoor or outdoor use?
    Both! When used on rooftops the mini-step is designed with a custom PVC weight to eliminate the need for rooftop penetrations and provide wind resistance. For indoor or ground-based applications simply bolt the base flange to the surface.
  • Do I need railing on either side of my Kee^® Step Mini Step Over?
    No, Kee^® Step Mini Step Overs are designed just below the height at which OSHA requires a stair railing. If clearance over a higher obstacle is needed please review our Kee^® Step rooftop crossover page.
  • Where would I use a Kee^® StepMini Step Over?
    Roofs are cluttered with potential trip hazards, with conduit, ammonia lines, and ductwork commonly crisscrossing the walk path. Where a walk path and small obstruction meet we recommend installing Kee^® Step Mini Step Overs to eliminate the trip hazard and protect your worker from a potential injury.
  • How long will a Kee^® Step Mini Step Over last on my roof?
    Unlike it’s lumber-built alternative, Kee^® Step Mini Step Overs are designed using galvanised components, PVC weights, and nylon treads – all with an extremely long life expectancy even in harsh rooftop environments.

  • Do you have Mobile Work Platforms that meet Military Requirements or aircraft maintenance?
    Yes, we have design and build capabilities to meet military requirements for aircraft maintenance.
  • Is it a legal requirement for me to cover my inspection pit?
    The UK Work at Height Regulations 2005 apply wherever there is a risk of a fall liable to cause personal injury, which means they are relevant to work around maintenance pits and put extra responsibilities on employers overseeing this work. These responsibilities also apply to those who ‘control’ this work, such as facility managers and building owners who contract others.
  • What size pit cover do I need?
    We have three sizes of the PitProtect, the 1100, 1300 & 1500. They differ only in width as they all extend to 2m in length. PitProtect 1100 has a width of 0.9m - 1.1m, PitProtect 1300 has a width of 1.1m - 1.3m and PitProtect 1500 has a width of 1.3m - 1.5m. Once you've determined which width is better for your pit, you simply need to divide the length of your pit by 2 (meters). If you land on a half number, round up to ensure your whole pit will be covered.
  • What is the maximum working load of the PitProtect?
    The maximum working load of both the small and large pit covers is 150kg.
  • Can I drive on the PitProtect?
    No, the PitProtect is designed as a working platform and fall protection system only.
  • I have vehicle jacks in my pit, can I still install PitProtect?
    Yes, you can. By centralising the jack, the concertina design of the system - jack in the middle, push mats to either side then jack can move freely up and down the pit.
  • My inspection pit varies in width throughout, can i still use a PitProtect?
    The PitProtect has been designed to accommodate several different widths thanks to its internal telescopic bars, this means even if your pit is uneven in width, the pit cover can be adjusted throughout accordingly to fit perfectly.
  • Once PitProtect is installed, can i take the system out again?
    Yes, once installed, you can remove it easily with no tools.
  • How is this horizontal lifeline better than other systems?
    The Kee Line Horizontal Lifeline system is technically superior since it's engineered to immediately absorb energy to minimise impact. The energy absorber is calibrated to impart lower forces into the system in a minor fall. In the event of a more severe fall, the forces are ramped up gradually, providing more stopping power.
  • Is the Kee Line price competitive to other horizontal lifeline systems?
    Yes. The Kee Line Horizontal Lifeline system, when backed by the KeeLine Calculator, immediately provides a materials list so you have an optimised system with in-stock components that is easy to install.   • What does the Kee Line Calculator do for installers?
    The Kee Line Calculator provides both installer and customer with the safest system in the field. It also provides a complete list of components for the entire installation. The calculator does all the math for you and provides alerts if there are any improper calculations. This eliminates risk. Finally, the calculator ensures the HLL system is compliant with EN, OSHA and ANSI regulations and is part of a complete personal fall arrest system that maintains a safety factor of at least two.

    Galvanized to BS EN ISO 1461. Rubber molded base weights prevent rubber pads 'peeling' at the edges. Over 100 suction cups molded into each rubber bonded weight to maximize grip. Kee Anchor does not penetrate the roof surface.
  • Can Kee Anchor be used on a wet surface?
    Yes, the system can be used on multiple roof surfaces in wet and dry conditions.
  • What are the fixing options for Kee Point eyebolts?
    We have a variety of fixing options including concrete, brick, steelwork and cavity walls. All types of wall construction can be fitted with a safety eyebolt when required.
  • What are the materials that the Kee Point eyebolts are made of?
    They are manufactured from either high tensile carbon steel with a galvanised or plastic-coated finish, or grade 316 stainless steel
  • Is there a removable safety eyebolt option for areas where visual presentation is important?
    Yes, Kee Point removable safety eyebolt can be used in such prestige locations. The eyebolt can be removed when not in use2, leaving only an unobtrusive covered mounting point.
  • Can Kee Point eyebolts be used for lifting purposes?
    No, the Kee Point eyebolt is a component part of a personal protection system for the prevention of falls from heights and may be used only in conjunction with the relevant protective equipment (lanyards, etc.)

    The Kee Point safety eyebolt conforms to EN 795 : 2012 and 14567: 1999.
  • What is the maximum span between support brackets?

    The bars welded inside of a skylight are commonly known as “burglar bars” and are designed to keep thieves out of your facility, not to protect from the impact of a fall. Furthermore, these bars do not protect workers or equipment below the opening from being struck by shards of the broken dome or potential biological contaminants should an impact occur. Kee Safety does not recommend using burglar bars as fall protection.
  • Do I need to protect every skylight on my roof?
    In simple terms, yes. In 1910.28(b)(3)(i) OSHA states that employees must be protected from any hole 4' or higher above a lower level. However, we recommend partnering with a Kee Safety Expert to help prioritise the fall hazards on your roof using a risk-assessment based approach.
  • Are BeamClamp fixings better than my fabricated clamps?
    While BeamClamp fixings will perform the same function as a fabricated fixing, we feel we can offer several distinct advantages. BeamClamp fixings are available off the shelf verses having to be made, this can often save time. BeamClamp products all come with a published safe working load that is backed by a rigorous testing program.   • Do I need an Engineers approval to use BeamClamp products?
    No, but we recommend a Licensed Structural Engineer be consulted to determine the integrity of the steel members being connected. While we offer safe working loads as high as 32kN it is always best to ensue the steel being connected can carry such a load.
  • Do I need to do any routine maintenance on the BeamClamps?
    You should treat the connection in a similar manner to that of a bolted connection. We suggest that the bolt torque is checked periodically and a visual inspection be performed on the clamps.
  • How do the BeamClamp differ from other products on the market?
    BeamClamp products have been designed to offer a higher safe working load than other products on the market as well as having a better product finish.
  • How long does it take to get the clamps once I have placed an order?

    A better question would be how strong is a weld compared to a BeamClamp connection. BeamClamp products come with an easy to read safe working load table. Dependent upon the bolt size used we offer a guaranteed safe working load per connection backed by a factor of safety of 5:1. Calculating the strength of a weld requires structural calculations and ultimately is dependent upon the skill of the welder.
  • Could you define the term “Safe Working Load with a Factor of Safety of 5:1”?
    The safe working load of the BeamClamp components is derived from physical testing. Some manufacturers use theoretical testing done by computer programs, we feel that testing should reflect actual on-site conditions. For each product a series of tests are undertaken, we then assume the main value to be two standard deviations below the actual main, and then divide by 5 to determine our published safe working load.
  • Is BeamClamp a permanent connection or intended as only temporary?
    BeamClamp is intended as a permanent connection, although it is very effective as a temporary connection to avoid welding to or drilling holes in existing steelwork.
  • Is using BeamClamp a better alternative to welding or drilling?
    We think so. On-site welding brings with it so many additional concerns such as the need for highly skilled personnel, the need for permits, the risk of fire resulting from a stray spark, and the fact that once welded the connection instantly becomes permanent. Drilling has similar disadvantages, it also requires skilled labor, it is often difficult positioning a portable drill in exactly the right location, and any errors can only be rectified by drilling new holes. BeamClamp eliminates these problems, workers can install BeamClamp connections using only simple hand tools, there is no risk of stray sparks causing a fire hazard and re-positioning and re-aligning the steel is as easy as loosening and re-tightening a nut and bolt. These factors often result in a quick turn around saving time and money.
  • Should I be concerned about corrosion?
    Any responsible Engineer should always be concerned about corrosion. If your application is inside in a sealed environment then less concern is needed whereas an outside application in a highly corrosive environment, such as close to a body of water, should raise greater corrosion concern. With this in mind BeamClamp choose as standard a Hot Dip Galvanised finish for their products. Some products are also available in stainless steel.     The PitProtect has been designed to accommodate several different widths thanks to its internal telescopic bars, this means even if your pit is uneven in width, the pit cover can be adjusted throughout accordingly to fit perfectly.
  • Once PitProtect is installed, can i take the system out again?
    Yes, once installed, you can remove it easily with no tools.
  • What are the annual inspection requirements for the product? Are these different in any market around the world?
    The frequency will depend upon the environment, location and usage but should be at least every 12 months. Refer to IFU for additional guidance.
  • Can the track be cut to length?
    Yes, as long as the cut piece is being spliced into a standard-length track. Typically, this would only be done on one end of a system. Cuts should be clean, de-burred and square.
  • What are the basics around max spans?
    Max Span between brackets: 3.6 for one user – see IFU for other users.
  • Where can a join be placed in-between supports?
    We have tested the join to be anywhere between the largest span (3.6m).
  • Can I re-use the BeamClamp components over and over?
    No, while it is fine to re-use on several occasion for re-positioning or for alignment purposes, we do not recommend that they be re-used an infinite number of times. If you do intend to re-use the BeamClamp fixing, we do insist that a new bolt is used once it has been fully tightened to our recommended torque value.
  • How do I ensure correct installation?
    Clear instructions are shown on all BeamClamp packaging. In addition, we have separate installation instructions available in both print and electronic format. For BeamClamp assemblies we are pleased to offer a CAD drawing of the application clearly listing the location of the BeamClamp components and the recommended torque value. At the conclusion of an installation we recommend that the bolts and nuts have been tightened to our recommended torque values.
  • Will the cast section work loose if the screw is un-tightened too far?
    If our standard installation instructions are followed the chances of the cast section working loose are extremely remote. If required, we can supply a longer screw and a locking device that will ensure the cast section will never work loose.
  • Can I re-use the BoxBolt?
    No, however it can be removed and the hole in the steel used again with another BoxBolt. Some blind bolt type fastening systems alter the properties and shape of the steel, even when the BoxBolt is removed the hole in the steel remains in good condition.
  • Can the BoxBolt be removed?
    Yes, quite easily. If you remove the core bolt the cone will fall away and the body section can be prized out of the hole. Typically you would have to use a screw driver or a crowbar to lever under the collar section.

    The system needs to be tested and certified by a competent person, approved by the manufacturer every 6 months, as per the requirements of BS7883 2019
  • Can the davit arm it be used for lifting materials?
    No, not this specific arm as it is design for abseil use only and therefore tested and compliant with the appropriate standards. Davits designed for lifting must be designed and tested in accordance with Lifting Operations and Equipment Regulations (LOLER)
  • How many are required per building?
    It really depends on the frequency and duration of use. We typically supply 2 or 3 with each system but the quantity is determined on a case-by-case basis. Factors such as frequency and duration of use, building design, accessibility and budget will impact the quantity needed, but the Kee Safety technical support team are on hand to assist in this regard.
  • How many users can the system accommodate?
    The abseil rail can accommodate multiple users. However, one design limitation is that to remain compliant with the specifications, a maximum of 2 users are permitted to be attached to the rail between any single span. So maximum of 2 users per span and the span will differ according to the design, but typically it is 3mtrs.
  • How many trollies does one user require?
    Under the requirements of IRATA any user will require 2 trollies for connection to ensure they always have a primary and secondary line connection. Trollies are rated to 21kN which will allow for a second user to connect for rescue purposes.
  • How do you access the rail when installed on a building soffit?
    There are several ways to facilitate this but one way would be to install a davit arm system at the access point. This davit can then be used for the user to go over the leading edge and to then transition from the davit to the rail. Two points of connection will need to be maintained so a third connection lanyard will need to be utilised by the rope access technician to facilitate the transition.
  • Can BeamClamp products be used with the tapered flanges of S-Beams and C-Channels?
    Yes, in fact we have two products specifically designed for this purpose. The Type BT and Type BW have a sloped nose to ensure correct contact is made with these sections.     All BeamClamp products, including all types of mechanical fastening devices, can work loose over time if extreme vibration conditions are present. If your application is subject to normal everyday vibrations the standard products will work fine without the need for additional concern. BeamClamp connections have been tested under vibration conditions and have passed some of the most rigorous testing requirements.
  • What is the standard finish?
    The standard finish is Hot Dip Galvanised. While a plain electro galvanised finish may be sufficient for some application we felt that we should offer the best possible finish as standard. The material finish specification is Hot Dip Galvanise to ASTM A153.
  • What material are the BeamClamps manufactured from?
    BeamClamp products are manufactured from ductile iron which is ideally suited for a clamp of this nature as against more malleable form of cast iron that have a tendency to deform. We feel that ductile iron is a stronger and safer material. The material specification used for the manufacture of BeamClamp products is SG Iron to ASTM A536: Grade 65-45-12.
  • Will the BeamClamp product damage my protective coating?
    No. One of the main advantages of BeamClamp over traditional connection methods is that protective finishes such as paint or hot dip galvanising are not damaged. Drilling a hole in a section of steel will leave bare metal inside the hole while welding will require that the finish be removed to ensure adequate weld penetration. Once a hot dip galvanised finish has been damaged in this way it can never be fully re-applied unless the hot dipping process is re-done. Paint is not damaged as the clamps compress down on the steel as against digging into it.
  • Can the BoxBolt be used in any shape of SHS?
    The BoxBolt can be used with rectangular, square, circular and oval shaped sections.
  • Can the BoxBolt be used with slotted holes?
    Yes, as long as the slotted hole is only in the outer material and a standard clearance hole is used on the box section. If there is any shear load this needs to be perpendicular to the direction of the slot.
  • Can the BoxBolt be used in concrete?
    No, the BoxBolt is intended only to be used where there is a cavity. As the cone is pulled up and into the body of the BoxBolt the fins require room to expand. If used in concrete the fins would not expand properly and the BoxBolt would not work as intended.
  • What is the finish on the BoxBolt?
    The mild steel BoxBolt has two different finish options, zinc plated or hot dip galvanised. Also they are available in Stainless Steel Grade 1.4401 (316). When ordering please specify which finish you require.
  • What materials are available?
    The standard BoxBolt is manufactured from mild steel. The material specification for the body and the cone is mild steel to BS EN 10083 Grade 1.1151. The core bolt manufactured from high tensile steel Grade 8.8. The Stainless Steel BoxBolt is manufactured in Grade 1.4401 (316).

    The UK Work at Height Regulations 2005 apply wherever there is a risk of a fall liable to cause personal injury, which means they are relevant to work around maintenance pits and put extra responsibilities on employers overseeing this work. These responsibilities also apply to those who ‘control’ this work, such as facility managers and building owners who contract others.
