Kee Safety LLC provides safety handrails for the SWCC sea desalination water plant in Jeddah

Kee Safety LLC designed, supplied and installed KEE LITE aluminium handrails for the new Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), for their new sea desalination water plant in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The project was done in phases, during 2011-2013. KEE LITE fittings supplied for this project were anodised to increase corrosion resistance and wear resistance.

SWCC Sea Desalination Water plant, Jeddah

SWCC is a Saudi government corporation responsible for desalinating sea water, in order to augment the supply of potable water to coastal and inland cities in the Kingdom. SWCC is also the second largest electric power producer in the Kingdom.

With a population forecast to reach 29.3 million by 2015, the supply of fresh water is essential to Saudi Arabia, a desert country with a large agricultural and industrial base. As the largest country in the world without running surface water, Saudi Arabia has been dependent on desalinated water for potable water since the 1950s. Saudi Arabia remains the world’s largest producer of desalinated water.

KEE LITE Aluminium Fittings

KEE LITE fittings are manufactured from a high grade Aluminium Silicon Magnesium alloy, they are much lighter than ordinary fittings, ensuring an especially easy to handle and quick to assemble solution which saves time and cost on site. The KEE LITE range has gained TÜV approval for the main components after undergoing extensive testing.  Together with the high strength to weight ratio of the aluminium alloy, this ensures the fittings are much lighter than conventional products, and will remain strong and durable throughout the lifetime of an installation. Aluminium provides high corrosion resistance while the integral KEE KOAT coated grub screws in each fitting, designed to lock the product safely and securely onto its respective tube, deliver an excellent slip load performance. This technology, already well proven in the market leading range of KEE KLAMP fittings, eliminates the need for time consuming welding or specialist installation skills, so helping to reduce structure assembly time and lower project costs even further.
