As an administrator of an educational facility, it is your responsibility to ensure anyone who has access to your roof can do so in a safe and secure manner. It’s not only for the good of your workers and employees, it’s required by international safety standards.
Serving nearly 5,000 students, Cerro Coso Community College is a public community college in the Eastern Sierra / Upper Mojave Desert region of Southern California, USA. The college was concerned that contractors were using a series of plywood ramps and staging to access rooftop HVAC equipment. Seven large platforms, all with a different configurations were approved for installation. Our RSM, Juan Lopez, visited site again alongside our Technical Manager, Paul Bowes, and our partner, Pacific Rim Fall Protection, to evaluate and design each platform. Due to time constraints and the remote location, each platform would have to be built on site.
